One of the most important things that medical clinics and businesses in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, the_hidden_value_of_custo_76651_145401Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Suffolk can do to protect its data and computers is install the patches, Security Updates, and bug fixes that are distributed by manufacturers.

A recent Google study seems to indicate that the typical computer user does not seem to think fixing the broken software on their computer is necessary. Just 2% of non-experts said that routinely patching software was high on their list of security priorities, compared to 35% of IT support companies and their experts.

So, if I discovered that my front door lock and three of my windows were not keeping the crooks and criminals out of my house, would I fix them?  You betcha…

But, the same thing is happening with servers and PCs in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Suffolk and no one seems concerned about the problem.  Some of the recent hacks would not have happened had people applied the patches and fixes that had already been released by the manufacturers!!  One answer is to get professional help from IT experts who provide Managed IT Services and computer network services.

Management of Windows Patches (along with patches released for all of the other software installed on your business computers), should be a priority for your IT network people and patches should be updated once a month at the bare minimum.

About our IT Support Company
Our IT support company was founded in 2004 by Rick Boyles. Our typical customer has 10 to 150 workstations, is small businesses or medical clinics, and relies heavily on e-mail, the Internet, and their computer network for running their business or medical office.  Clients hire us to provide Managed IT Services, Computer Network Services, computer network administration, and more. They do not want to incur the overhead and cost of a full-time IT staff, and they do not want to risk their IT to a self-taught employee who knows “a few things” about computers.  We serve medical clinics and professional services in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Hampton Roads, Virginia.
